My drawing, ‘Beyond the Rock Pools’, is an otherworldly image that leaves reality behind and inhabits a cosmic, surreal world. The pools came from an idea in my previous work, ‘Infinity’ (see my post from 2 February 2025), inspired by the Figure Eight Pools in Sydney’s Royal National Park. The pools are not joined in the ‘Beyond the Rock Pools’ drawing in the middle, instead forming the figure of the number eight, the eight quietly representing infinity. I have loved rock pools on the coast since I was a young girl. I love getting the chance to walk around them. I used both Caran D’Ache Luminance pencils and Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils. The paper size is A2.
