Portrait of a Ceramic Cacti World

‘Portrait of a Ceramic Cacti World’ is a drawing I created using both Faber-Castell Polychromos and Caran D’Ache Luminance pencils. I also used a white Posca paint pen in the sky areas. As in my other drawing of a ceramic pot, from my post on 15 August 2025, ‘Jellyfish on Ceramic Pot at Sunset’, I am still interested in sunsets. I love the dramatic colours they have, with rich hues that graduate from yellow to orange, red, and purple. I enjoyed watching the sunsets last year from my living room window, particularly those in Autumn and Winter, and I still enjoy watching them. I used the same ceramic pot again that I made as an art student at university many years ago in my work. I find cacti and succulents fascinating, as I grew up surrounded by them in the garden. The background of the ceramic pot is a dark blue night sky, with a mountain range in which the pot sits.
