‘The Cat’ is a portrait I created in various colours using both Sharpie Creative Markers and Posca Paint Markers. I only used a couple of Poscas due to the limited colour range of the Sharpies. I used Canson black paper here. I have been working in a fairly limited palette lately. However, this drawing is quite the opposite. It was enjoyable working on this one, and I didn’t expect it to be the colour explosion it turned out to be! I have three cats, and this one is closest to our tabby cat’s face. She tends to look at me like this sometimes, studying me, it seems like, with her hypnotic stare.
