Jellyfish on Ceramic Pot at Sunset

‘Jellyfish on Ceramic Pot at Sunset’ is a drawing I created using Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils. This time, I used a white paint marker in the white areas (a Posca pen). I am also calling this a ‘portrait’ of a ceramic pot. I have been viewing sunsets quite often from my living room window recently during winter, and photographing these sunsets, zooming in as far as possible to capture their rich, warm colours. I am also enjoying just looking at these sunsets, which have been appearing nearly every day since winter. I just had to draw sunsets then, didn’t I? I based the ceramic pot on one I made myself, featuring an octopus painted with slip, which I created as a university student many years ago. This time, I drew a large and colourful jellyfish instead of an octopus, and incorporated a sunset into the background, with a starry night sky. The top part of the pot is similar to the original pot I created as a student, this time, though, it is in vibrant colours instead of earthy tones, as well as black and white. The background which I used here has a peach painted wall, which is the same as in one of the bedrooms in the house. I made the white window frames in grey tones here, though. Outside the window frames, I captured one of the sunsets I viewed from my living room window in a photograph. After zooming in multiple times, I noticed the rich reds, oranges, and yellows among the darker colours in the sky.
