I made a paper pattern first, and started making a few shapes which I joined together, until I made the whole creation into the shape of a vest. I used leftover yarns which I had collected for years, both in wool and synthetics of different textures. It was my first attempt at making freeform crochet and I was very pleased with the result. It was a lot of fun to do too. Plus, I got to make it in my favourite colours.
